Golden Nugget was able to slip into the Pennsylvania market via a caveat that allowed out-of-state gaming entities a crack at any online gambling licenses that weren’t first scooped up by Pennsylvania’s land-based casinos. As of August 2023, the undisputed leader of the NJ online casino market is taking its business next door to Pennsylvania.
